In recent decades the diffusion of digital media and the creation of new forms of sociability, expression and communication have transformed various aspects of everyday life. In these newly emerging technotopia one of the most popular practices is the engagement with digital games. Creators and players around the world intertwine social and intercultural networks on the basis of digital and online gaming.

Equally important is that in the context of the so-called cultural industries and the cognitive economies the practice of playing has radically changed. Games do not relate exclusively to entertainment practices, but also pervade numerous aspects of social life and space. The Symposium Gamification Practices: Education – Space- Culture attempts to illuminate different aspects and meanings of digital gaming and detect the underway dynamic changes in the Greek Universities.

The meeting will be held at the Department of Architecture, University of ThessalyVolos on Friday, 10th of June 2016.
