Austria-based CycloTech has successfully completed the first test of its eVTOL prototype, and this 176-pound demonstrator is unlike any other you’ve probably seen. Why? It boasts an innovative electric VTOL chassis that utilizes Voith-Schneider propellers rather than traditional rotors for improved agility as well as control in the air. The propellers may resemble a vintage paddle steamer, and rightfully so, as each prop is a spinning cylinder whose walls are formed by a number of wing blades.
