{"id":1770,"date":"2021-08-23T11:22:25","date_gmt":"2021-08-23T09:22:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/escapelab.net\/?p=1770"},"modified":"2021-08-23T11:23:37","modified_gmt":"2021-08-23T09:23:37","slug":"minecraft-allows-censored-journalism-to-all","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lecad.arch.uth.gr\/escapelab\/?p=1770","title":{"rendered":"Minecraft allows censored journalism to all."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-gray-color has-text-color\">&#8220;<em>A virtual space becomes a home to real-world texts<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Originally conceived as a collaborative concept between German marketing agency&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ddb.com\/\">DDB&nbsp;<\/a>and the German branch of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/rsf.org\/en\">Reporters Without Borders<\/a>, The Uncensored Library was delineated and constructed by UK design company&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.blockworks.uk\/\">Blockworks<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Combined with the input from DDB\u2019s research and outreach, Reporters Without Borders and Blockworks were able to analyze where&nbsp;<em>Minecraft<\/em>&nbsp;communities were particularly sizable, and subsequently match these results to countries suffering from a substantial degree of censorship. \u201cFor example, in Egypt there\u2019s no free information,\u201d Reporters Without Borders media and public relations officer Kristin B\u00e4sse tells me.
