Biography

Avrokómi Zavitsánou is an architect and holds a PhD in Architecture from the University of Thessaly, specializing in the theoretical and critical investigation of space within the context of contemporary and digital cultural production and management. She also holds a degree in Conservation of Antiquities and Works of Art from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens, as well as a Master’s degree in Cultural Management (Panteion University). She has received scholarships for her postgraduate and doctoral studies from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY), the Hellenic Foundation for Research & Innovation (HFRI), and the Research, Innovation and Excellence Unit of the University of Thessaly (DEKA). She is a member of the research team of the Laboratory of Environmental Communication and Audiovisual Documentation (LECAD) at the University of Thessaly, with research interests focusing on the intersection of architecture, emerging technologies, and environmental/cultural management and communication. She has participated in numerous research projects both as a researcher and as a principal investigator, and her work has been widely presented at scientific conferences and published in academic journals. In parallel with her research activities, she has taught as an adjunct lecturer at the Departments of Architecture of the University of Thessaly and the University of Ioannina, as well as at the Athens School of Fine Arts, in the Department of Theory and History of Art. She is also actively engaged in architectural practice, cultural design, and publishing, as co-founder of Colour Greece Creative Studio (www.colourgreece.com).
